Les Habitations Hestia de Coaticook / Maisons Martin-Matte Network
The Habitations Hestia project was launched by the Association des personnes handicapées de la MRC de Coaticook (APHC+), in response to a glaring need for housing adapted to people living with a physical impairment and victims of a head injury in the region. The Association decided to create 20 adapted housing units to meet the demand. |
Les Habitations Hestia Coaticook / Maisons Martin-Matte Network
The Habitations Hestia housing units, located on a single floor, filled residents with joy when it opened in 2017. The location of the project was strategic: near services, in the centre of Coaticook, at the intersection of Ruisseau and Ruisselets streets. It enjoyed the support of the MRC de Coaticook and the Martin-Matte Foundation for its construction.
The project’s name, Hestia, was carefully chosen as a reference to the goddess of the home, a symbol of safety and well-being. These housing units are served by the CIUSSS de l'Estrie-CHUS.
