Project Maison Martin-Matte Saguenay
Headed up by the Association Renaissance TCC et AVC Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, this project is a major addition to services available to people with head injuries in the region. With conviction and diligence, the Association has done what it takes to carry out this incredible initiative. The future Maison Martin-Matte Saguenay, which will offer 13 housing units for people living with the effects of a head injury or a stroke, will be integrated to the Immeubles de la Rivière Chicoutimi. This innovative project with 39 affordable social housing units fosters coexistence and social diversity within the community.
On March 11, 2024, the member for Chicoutimi and the Minister for Municipal Affairs, Andrée Laforest, announced that this project was one of those chosen as part of the most recent call for projects from the Société d’habitation du Québec’s affordable housing program, the Programme d’habitation abordable Québec, which will enable its rapid completion in Chicoutimi.
In addition to financial support from the Martin-Matte Foundation for the construction of this new living environment, several partners will collaborate on this project: the SHQ, the Ville de Saguenay, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de Saguenay, and the Office municipal d'habitation de Saguenay.
This residence will be well served by adapted transport and other essential services, helping maintain the autonomy of future residents.
